About

Hi, I'm Eran Küçük.

I help indie studios launch on Steam. As Publishing Manager at GameDev.ist, I've worked on the marketing and launch of 13 indie games and counting. IndieDevTool is the toolset I build to make my own work easier on the games we work on, then share with other devs, and the things I kept wishing existed when we sit down to plan a launch.

How I got here

My path into games started in video arts; back then I hadn't met a spreadsheet yet. The first time the two clicked for me was when I shot a short film in Turkey for This War of Mine, 11 bit studios' game about civilians surviving a war. Bringing a game and video together like that moved the dev team, and it moved me too. That was the first turning point.

A few years later I chased that same feeling with Türk Oyun Sektörü (Turkish Gaming Industry), a documentary series I worked on as a joint project between SaveButonu and Disket Kutusu. Sitting down with studio after studio, the relationships I built there were what made me want to turn this into my actual job. My years in Turkish games press at SaveButonu gave me the other half: an ear for what lands and what doesn't.

Then came Hacked: The Streamer, an interactive FMV thriller I made with my own team, directed by Burak Özkan. After years on the marketing side, helping build and ship something of our own pulled both worlds together in a way that still feels right. These days I do that work at scale on the publishing side, and IndieDevTool is where I put the math and tools that come out of it.

Selected work

At GameDev.ist I work across the launch and marketing of our catalog. A few recent titles: Pawsome Resort, Anomaly Agent, Sodaman, Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith, and Inn Tycoon.

About AI usage at IndieDevTool

The parameters and calculations behind these tools are ones I believe in and stand behind personally. I built them into a website, rather than leaving them buried in spreadsheets, with the help of Claude. AI assists only on the software and translation side; the logic, the numbers, and the calls behind them are "human".
