Privacy Policy

IndieDevTool ("we", "the site") is operated by an individual based in Turkey, providing free tools for indie game developers. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are. We tried to make it readable. If anything is unclear, email us.

What we collect

When you submit an inquiry form: the email address you provide, the Steam URL you enter, and any message you write. We store this in our database (Cloudflare D1) so we can respond to you and, if your game ends up featured as Today's Game, fulfill the booking.

When you subscribe to launch notifications: the email address you provide and the page you subscribed from. We store this in our database (Cloudflare D1) and synchronize it with our email service (Resend) so we can email you when the relevant tool goes live. Each notification email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

Bot protection: the subscribe form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks request patterns to filter automated submissions. Turnstile does not set cookies and does not collect personal data; it analyzes the request itself, not you.

When you visit any page: standard server-level information (IP address, user agent, request timestamp) handled by Cloudflare for the purpose of preventing abuse and keeping the service running. This data is not joined to a user profile or used to track you across the web.

Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other sites. It tells us aggregate things like how many people visited the calculator page yesterday.

We do not use cookies on the public site. We do not use tracking pixels. We do not run retargeting ads.

How we use it

To reply to your inquiries via the email address you provided
To send you launch notifications when you've explicitly asked for them
To fulfill featured-game bookings (date pinning, posting your game, sending stats)
To detect and prevent abuse of forms and APIs

Who we share it with

We use the following third-party processors to operate the site. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else for any purpose other than running the service.

Cloudflare, hosting, edge serving, security, web analytics, and Turnstile bot protection. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Resend, sending transactional and notification emails, managing the newsletter audience. Resend's privacy policy.

If we add a payment processor in the future, we'll update this list and email subscribers about the change before any new data starts flowing.

How long we keep it

Inquiry emails: for as long as the relationship is active, plus up to 12 months for accounting and audit purposes after that.
Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe (one-click link in every email). Unsubscribed records are kept marked-unsubscribed for 6 months for abuse-prevention, then permanently deleted.
Server logs: retained by Cloudflare per their standard policy, typically 30 days.
Featured-game booking records: kept for 7 years for accounting compliance.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time. See "Your rights" below.

Your rights

If you're in the EU, UK, Turkey, or another jurisdiction with similar rules, you have the right to:

Access, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction, ask us to correct inaccurate data
Deletion, ask us to delete your data, sometimes called the "right to be forgotten"
Portability, receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Object, object to certain types of processing

To exercise any of these, email us at sponsor@indiedevtool.com. We respond within 30 days.

Children

The site is intended for adult game developers. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone in that age range.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will refresh the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify subscribed users by email.
